African Bush Camps offers you a variety of exclusive safari camps, whether it be on the mighty Zambezi River, in the Okavango Delta or soaring over the Linyanti Marsh.   Africa at its best.


Somalisa Camp is situated in Hwange National Park. Somalisa camp has a fantastic location as its hidden on an acacia island on the edge of a seasonal flood plain.   Breathtaking scenery of the savannah plans can be seen here.

There are  seven elegantly furnished Sail Tents with gauze sliding doors, a glass wood-burner fireplace for the cold winter nights, and an overhead fan for the hot summer days.


The tents each have bathroom facilities including flush toilets, indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a copper slipper-style bathtub. Image sitting in the bathtup overlooking the bush!! Pure Magic.


The main decking area includes split level decking with a separate lounge and dining area, as well as a small splash pool for guests overlooking the “Elephant Pool” and a natural waterhole where herds of game congregate to drink and where guests can relax whilst soaking in the African bush.

Activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives. Wildlife sightings include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species.




Somalisa Acacia  a great camp to take the children. It consists of 2 Family Units with inter-leading walkways between the parents and children’s rooms which are both en-suite, as well as 2 standard Sail Tents.


Each tent includes wood-burner fireplace for the cold winter nights, and an overhead fan for the hot summer days, as well as en suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets, an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a copper slipper-style bathtub. 


The Luxurious tents are on  raised decks, under the dappled canopy of a grove of Acacias on the western side of Somalisa.

There is a small waterhole which is  frequented by large herds of big game including buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe and lion.


A small splash pool allows you to cool off during the heat of the day.


Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most of the activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.

On special request Somalisa Acacia can be booked in conjunction with Somalisa Camp to cater for larger groups of up to 20 people. A private guide and tour leader facility is available on special request.


SOMALISA EXPEDITIONS - the  original safari experience in Hwange National Park.

This is the land of the giants, as its here you will view the big elephant herds.  

Nestled under an incredible grove of Acacia trees along the seasonal floodplain, this is the place where you will experience an authentic safari experience.

The main area includes a lounge and dining room area on raised decking which overlooks a pool which the elephants have been habituated to drinking out of. So its here where you would get up close with these beautiful giants.

Consisting of six elegantly furnished, pristine Serengeti-style tents, each tent has en suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets and running water.

The activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives. Wildlife sighting include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, hyena and many other wildlife species.

This camp is set in the remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools near  the Kanga Pan, not too far from Chitake Springs.


The 12-bedded tented camp has en-suite bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and basins overlooking the water hole.  Outdoor showers are really awesome to experience in the bush.


Two of the tents are family/honeymoon tents with their own private dining and seating area.

The main area has a comfortable lounge and dining area offering you uninterrupted views of a very active water hole.


Relax in the upper deck lounge under the shade of a mahogany or sit on the deck below near the splash pool and enjoy Kanga − the old Africa in a new era.

Kanga Pan itself is the only known water source in the area available throughout the year, making it a hub for wildlife and a delight to explore on foot.

Pristine and undeveloped, this area gives you a pure, unspoilt, private African safari experience.

Besides game drives, bird watching and walking excursions, an hour’s drive brings you to the Zambezi flood plains in Mana Pools for canoeing and fishing excursions.


Long-term stays can also be booked at Chitake Springs through special prior arrangements.

Kanga works well in collaboration with Zambezi Expeditions to provide guests with an overall view of the inland and riverside experiences available in Mana Pools, one of the last remaining “untouched” wilderness paradises.

The 12-bedded luxury mobile camp is set up prior to your arrival near the Zambezi River, providing you with the opportunity to canoe and fish either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the river. 

The camp has a minimum stay of two nights for a minimum of two people and is the perfect combination to include with Kanga Camp to give you an overall experience of Mana Pools, both inland and riverside. 




LINYANTI  BUSH                  CAMP

Linyanti Bush Camp is situated on the banks of Linyanti Marsh in a private reserve which borders the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave.

Linyanti Bush Camp  is a  12-bed luxury tented camp on the banks of the  Marsh, and its here where you will enjoy some of the most spacious and comfortable tented accommodation.

The bathrooms are private and en-suite, consisting of fixed showers which are housed under the tent and gas-heated, as well as a flush toilet for your convenience.

The camp is limited to small exclusive groups who seek a personalized experience in a private concession away from the main tourist’s routes.

Activities from the camp consist of game drives, walking, night drives, mokoro safaris, boating and fishing as well as seasonal helicopter tours. Water activities are available only when water levels permit.

Linyanti is best known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season. Other wildlife encounters include Lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile, as well as other species of plains game.

Linyani Ebony Tented Camp is built on raised decking overlooking the Linyanti Marsh.

This is a very intimate  The camp’s well-appointed accommodation includes 3 twin bedded tents and 1 luxury family tent.

  KHWAI TENTED                 CAMP 

Khwai Tented Camp is located on a semi-permanent site within a concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve.


The Camp is on the banks of a lagoon which flows into the Khwai river which then acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area, thus offering visitors staying at Khwai Tented Camp several unique ways to experience Africa.

The spacious meru style tents are elegantly set-up on wooden decking overlooking the tranquil waters of the lagoon.

Accommodation includes en-suite bathroom facilities with flush toilets and al-fresco bucket showers

The New Khwai Tented Camp provides guests with an authentic and exclusive safari experience.

Besides the day-time drives which can feature Africa’s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe, guests at Khwai Tented Camp are able to explore nature after sunset with a night drive.

This is an  Exquisite Family Camp in the Khwai Area (Eastern Border of Moremi Game Reserve)

Khwai Bush Camp, located a permanent site on Tsaro Concession is built on the banks of the Khwai River and nestled amongst a forest of sycamore and leadwood trees.

Khwai Bush Camp has 4 standard and 2 family chalets. Guests can enjoy spacious and comfortable thatched accommodation and private en-suite bathrooms with views over the permanent water source and beyond into the Moremi Game Reserve.

This is  one of the richest game viewing areas in Botswana,your are able to watch the magic of Africa unfold. The area offers varied ecosystems- from enchanted forests and undulating grasslands to lush floodplains and meandering lagoons- this is one of the most consistent areas for wildlife encounters year-round.




Thorntree River Lodge is set in Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, just a short distance from the famous Victoria Falls.
