Rhino Post the Lodge to visit

TORCHWOOD TRAVEL visited RHINO POST SAFARI LODGE and what an amazing

experience it was. We enjoyed it so much that we are returning in August 2020

with some guests.   Let us tell you all about it.

RHINO POST is situated within the Kruger National Park, so in addition to their 12.000 hectare concession they have exclusive use of some of the public roads within the Kruger National Park

so going out on day drives and night drives can be very exciting.

THE MAIN LODGE AREA has a swimming pool and an extensive wine cellar, the  lounge areas are great to just relax and watch the game at the waterhole which is situated just across the riverbed  from the main bar area.

THE LODGE SUITES have been built using all natural materials from Canvas, Wood and Glass, all very eco friendly.

There are 8 suites and each one overlooks the Mutlumuvi Riverbed which is a dry Riverbed.

THE OUTDOOR SHOWERS have always been such an experience and I absolutely love using them.

There is also the OUTDOOR PATIO DECK, this so relaxing just sitting and reading a book.

On the subject of books I was reading Rhino Walking Safari by Nikki Meyer it just seemed the perfect reading  whilst sitting on the patio.  It is for sale in the curio shop.

High Tea in the afternoon is a real treat with sweet and savoury on offer before embarking on our Afternoon Safari with Sun-downers in the bush whilst watching the sun slowing setting.

Early morning Drives are very special, its the start of the early morning Dawn chorus and I find that having visited the bush so many times that a lot of the wild animals seem to become active at this time.

OUR GUIDE  Bonga Njajula is an outstanding guide. He has a wealth of knowledge and is the Head guide at Rhino Post.  Great fun was had with him. We cant praise him more.

FOOD,WINE and DINNER was very creative, we even had crocodile on the menu.

A highlight for us was having dinner in the inside dining area when suddenly a Hyena made his presence known by just slowly strolling past. This makes one aware that there are no fences and that the animals are free to roam - this is AFRICA this is what it is about.

If you are adventurous I would highly recommend  that you experience the bush on foot with RHINO WALKING SAFARIS where you walk up to 4 hours instead of a game drive. Staying out at PLAINS CAMP from where these walks take place. On this type of Safari  you encounter wildlife on foot and learn so much from the experienced guides.  Interesting aspects of the bush.

So to top it all adding on the attraction of an optional night spent under the STARS - this is magical, sleeping on raised platforms at the SLEEP OUT DECKS whilst been taken care of by  qualified guides.  You experience the sounds and smells of the bush at night and it is truly such an experience to remember.

We highly recommend you experience Rhino Post Lodge or Rhino Walking Safaris staying at

Plains Camp and  book as an activity experience the Sleep out Decks.
